First Day of Racing

On the first day of racing, three races could be sailed in light to moderate conditions.

The weather forecast for the first day of racing didn't look too promising, to get the scheduled three races in. At the skipper meeting however, the race officer reported 8 knots of breeze on Lake Uri and called for action. It took quite a while to sail to the racing area, where the reported wind could be found upon arrival.

It seemed, many of the competitors were eager to finally get some racing in and jumped the gun. After two general recalls, the U-Flag was hoisted and racing began in earnest. Conditions proofed to be rather tricky and therefore the majority of the fleet showed a mixed bag of results at the end of the day - but the usual suspects are in the leading positions.

Once back in the harbour, all the stories of the day were exchanged while having some beers. After that a couple of prices donated by our sponsers were drawn. Our thanks go to VM Sails, Schifffahrtsgesellschaft Luzern und Bergbahnen Pilatus.
